NEW CERTIFICATE OF DOCUMENTATION RENEWAL FEE

Effective November 10, 2014 the cost to renew Certificates of Documentation (COD) will be $26.00. The Final Rule that established this new fee was published in the Federal Register (79 FR 47015) on August 12, 2014.

ALL CUSTOMERS WITH A COD EXPIRING AFTER NOVEMBER 10, 2014 MUST INCLUDE A PAYMENT OF $26.00 WITH THE CG-1280 APPLICATION FOR RENEWAL.

Submissions for late renewals must be received in our office within 30 days of the date of expiration on the COD. The late fee remains unchanged at $5.00; however, the $26.00 renewal fee (for a total of $31.00) must be included and accompany all late submissions for CODs that expire in November, 2014.

Method of payment can be by check or money order payable to the U.S. Coast Guard. Payments can also be made by credit card with accompanying CG-7042 Authorization for Credit Card Transactions. Please NOTE: application fees, which include renewals, are non-refundable as per 46 CFR 67.500(e).

The U.S. Coast Guard and National Vessel Documentation Center (NVDC) are working to provide expanded electronic payment capabilities and hope to have this functionality in place in the near future.
